- Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are called gas giants and are more massive than the terrestrial planets.
- The Asteroid belt is a region between Mars and Jupiter.
- The Kuiper belt is a large region beyond Neptune’s orbit.
- The Scatttered disc is a region that overlaps the Kuiper belt but is even much further extended.
